Hash Beef Stew Recipe
Transport yourself to the nice beach of New Zealand with this tasty Hash stew. If you plan ahead, you can cook the beef itself ahead of time, then whip up the Hash stew in less than 30 minutes. Serve Hash stew hot with OTTOGI Taste Cooked Rice!
Ingredients
- 1 pound beef stewing steak
- Salt, OTTOGI Black Pepper Powder to taste
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Pack of OTTOGI Hash
- 1 (1 inch) piece fresh ginger, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- fresh herbs
- 2 medium potatoes, cubed
- 1 medium carrot, cubed
- OTTOGI Cooked White Rice
Directions
Step 1.
Place beef in a small pan, cover with water, and season with salt; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat to a simmer, and cook until beef is fork tender, 1 to 2 hours. Remove and cut beef into cubes; reserve remaining juices in the pan.
Step 2.
Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion, garlic and ginger, cook until the onions turn golden brown, 5 to 7 minutes. Add beef cubes and reserved juices; bring to a boil.
Step 3.
Dissolve the Ottogi Hash Sauce in 700ml of water separately. Stir until it is completely dissolved and add to Step 2. Tastes will be better with 3 spoons (35g) of Ottogi Ketchup into the sauce.
Step 4.
Once boiling, add potatoes and carrot. Season with additional salt and OTTOGI Black Pepper Powder to taste. Cover, reduce heat to a simmer, and cook gently until potatoes and carrots are tender, about 20 minutes. Finish by adding herb. serving with OTTOGI Taste Cooked Rice.
